Holiday Dinner

Holiday Dinner began as Christmas Dinner on campus many years ago.  Along with the dinner itself, there were a number of traditions, including students decorating their tables to be judged to determine best decorating.  In the 1930s, decorations were noted for their originality and their artistic nature.  The children of faculty were served at the president’s table, and Santa Claus visited during or after the dinner.  Plum pudding was a favorite and the children presented a yule log.

Christmas Dinner was a part of Little Christmas celebrations but eventually, by the late 1990s, Little Christmas became Little Holiday.  The dinner was also known as Holiday Dinner and didn’t reference Christmas in particular.  Holiday Dinner is still held today and is known for the ugly sweater contest.
