Blazer Bricks/Fountain

More than 100 years ago, the founders of Hood College laid the foundation for this great institution—brick by brick.

In spring 2014, the College began selling Blazer Brick pavers in the plaza by the fountain between Alumnae Hall and the Hodson Science and Technology Center. The personalized bricks can honor a friend or faculty member, memorialize a classmate or preserve someone’s own legacy at Hood College. Thousands of students and alumni will recognize your role in helping to build and sustain our institution. To date, nearly 300 bricks have been installed at the plaza.

The plaza was dedicated as the Jeanne Zimmerman Gearey ’52 Alumni Plaza on Oct. 11, 2014, made possible through gifts from her children, Susan Gearey ’79 and Bruce Gearey.
